No Heat Hair Curling Method

I was reading a friend's blog a couple weeks ago when she posted about this No Heat Hair Curling Method.

My daughter, HJ, and I watched the video and she set to work trying to get her hair curlier than what it is currently.  With her permission, I've taken a picture of her hair freshly washed, dried, & brushed to share with you.  This was taken Monday morning 4-9-2012 at around 11:30AM.

She has beautiful hair.  She would like to do some sort of a spiral perm, but the cost is just too much.  When looking for the cost at Sally Beauty Supply, for as many as we need it costs even more than the lady down the road.  She has decided, after being presented with the cost, to not get a spiral perm but to look for another way of doing her hair the way she wants.  When I read about the No Heat Curling Method, I immediately thought she would like it.  I was right.

I plan to take a picture of her hair tomorrow morning to show everyone the difference.  It will astound you!

Just as the tutorial states, the larger sections of hair that you put in to the band, the wider/larger curls you'll have.  Toward the front of HJ's face, you'll see smaller/tighter curls where she's gone smaller with the amount of hair she's put in to the band.  This is fully combed with a special comb I bought for her to work through her hair without loosing the curl.  She loves this way of curling her hair without having to use a curling iron or heat, as well as not having the expense of perming her hair ever 6 or so week.

Thank you Rebecca for showing this to me!  :)

Thank you for the email letting me know that you tried the no hair heat trick. It is pretty great, though looking like a crazy person first thing in the morning is less than desirable! ;-) Once a local trapper stopped by the house for a visit early one morning and my hair was still up in it. MORTIFYING.

I actually did this for Easter, though I never got a family picture like I had hoped we would.

Your daughter looks lovely. Thanks again Regina. So glad to hear from you!
