Sugar Free

Every pint and half pint was sweetened with a combination of apple juice concentrate and white grape raspberry juice.  My husband loves this!  He usually prefers his jams and jellies sweetened with sugar and gave me quite a bit of upset when I'd been sweetening the past few years of jams and jellies with generic Splenda.  But this year it is much different.  His sugar levels need to come down, so preferring to use natural sweeteners to refined sugar is a blessing in disguise!  I've been wanting to do this for years, but have had quite a bit of resistance, until now.  Praise God!  I don't say this out of disrespect for my husband, but to help others understand that with time, prayer and respectful perseverance, change can occur.  :)   He use to be a white bread and completely sugar man.  Now, he's eating multi-grain and juice sweetened jam man!  It has been 20 years.  ;)  I haven't thrown a fit about it at all.  I've respectfully purchased his sugar sweetened apricot jelly for a very long time now.  Last week, I quietly mentioned to him that perhaps it is time to reduce the sugar in our diets.  ;)  Praising God!  He came home and I gave him a taste of the pureed peaches and he liked it!  I gave him a taste of the jam and he liked it!  :)  Woohoo!
This is the pectin that I'd used.  It has changed a bit from the past 2 years, so instead of the boxes of sure-gel, it comes like this now.  It holds more in this little container too, which  means it is cheaper.  :)

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!  :)

Blessings,
