The "G" Family Birthday Bash

Displaced from his spot so we can clean.  He found an upside-down lap desk to lay on.
Must clean the kitchen.  Here in our home, the chores rotate.  It is now DA's turn to wash the dishes.  :)
Four pounds of ground pork sausage specially made by the small store down the road from us.  This is has become a family favorite since we've moved here.  It tastes so good!  This has been put in the freezer for faster prep time on Saturday when we'll combine it with all of the beans and other yummy things.  Recipe coming soon, I promise!

I have to prepare and do things gradually due to my back, so when I need to rest, I pick up other things like crocheting projects.
This is the beginning of an afghan for my new little nephew.  Since taking this picture, I've worked more on it, so it is just a little bigger.  If you look back a post, you'll be able to see the other color that I'll be using in the afghan.  :)
When taking a cleaning break, HJ loves being creative too!  She blesses me so much!  She told me she'd decorate my visor for me earlier in the summer.  What a lovely job she's done!

On Saturday August 6th at roughly 1:30-ish, people started arriving.  Beginning with my dear sweet friend and her new husband.  We were able to visit a bit before others started arriving at 3.  From 3 to 10:30PM we had 70 people here at our home.  Praise God!  We didn't want people to feel the need to bring presents, we just wanted their presence. ;)  Since this was a birthday party for all 3 children, we didn't want people to think they needed to bring gifts for all 3 children.  We wanted them to come and enjoy time together.  Our children just wanted to play and have fun with their friends.

Old and new friends visiting in the basement.  DA and the young fellow on the far right have been friends for 8 years.  The young man in the middle and his sister on the far left are our new friends as of the past year at the home school group we belong to.  Praise God for new friends and for old ones!  :)

The back porch visitors.  What a wonderful turn out there was with such lovely weather and wonderful friends!

This is the group of children who were either riding on the zip line or waiting patiently to swing on the tire swing.  I didn't count how many children there were present, but if you try to count, this group had 18.  Not long after this picture was taken, they played "Red Rover" for over 2 hours in the back yard.  There were no hard feelings, no bickering, no fights at all ever during the night.  Usually with this many children, you get some.  When my JL was "head-butted" by another boy, there wasn't even a problem.  He had a bloody nose and that's it.  What a blessing!

Everyone brought their camping chairs and ate while sitting in them, visited and just had a grand time.  We laughed and laughed at the precious little ones.  My husband especially took a liking to 2 little guys who we both watched in the Nursery class at the home school group. What fun it was to see one little guy's face light up in sheer joy when my husband jiggled the gray water barrel to make some water come out.  He just laughed and laughed...until he got a little water spilled on himself.  Then he moved a little and continued to laugh and giggle.

Some lovely ladies enjoying the zip line. :)

As night fell, we took out the glow sticks and bracelets.  They were a big hit!  The children even thought it would be great fun to decorate one of the trees with a glow stick...50' up!  LOL  I thought for sure we would have our trees resemble Christmas trees!  LOL

My beautiful HJ had some beautiful young ladies over to spend the night.  They stayed up late and just had a wonderful time.  What a blessing it was to just have to give them one rule-"Stay inside"- and trust them to be good girls and be able to go to bed after prayers of blessing upon each one's young life.

Memories, so beautiful to remember.
