We've had some excitement here at our house. We've said "good-bye" to our old piano and china cabinet that were in our living room. After selling the china cabinet, we gave the piano to a precious friend. They came and picked it up and there was quite a bit of space left in our living room.
We started looking for a keyboard that we could fold up and put away when not in use. Every one that we looked at, with all of the extra stuff you had to buy, it was really an unrealistic price. Disheartened, we prayed. After checking a local online classifieds site similar to craigslist, we found a few "small" keyboards, but knew we couldn't get those. We continued in our search when my husband found a piano, but disregarded it since we'd been looking for a keyboard. Looking at the same site at a different time, I had come across the same piano. I mentioned it to him and he said, "You know, I looked at that piano a day or two ago, but disregarded it since we were looking for a keyboard." I mentioned that I wouldn't mind a piano like that one since it is smaller and more compact than the one we'd just given away. Plus, the price was less than 1/3 of the price of the keyboards we've looked for. When we talked about it just for a few minutes, we left it overnight to pray about it. The next day, I'd asked him what he thought about it and he told me to go ahead and contact the lady about it. What a blessing!
The day we planned to go get it, my hubby fell off a ladder just 2 rungs down from the roof. I knew then that it simply wouldn't have been possible to go get the piano that day. I emailed the lady and let her know when a better day would be to go get it and it turned out to be such a blessedly beautiful day! The entire trip was about 4 1/2 hours, but the picturesque drive was so beautiful!
Absolutely beautiful scenery! We were in awe. Even though the scenery was the same on the way home, I was on the other side of the road and could see everything I couldn't see while we were on the way. Everything looked fresh and new and just breathtaking.
See?! ;)
God's beauty and majesty is breathtakingly beautiful!
See! They're beautiful! They are God's creation! :0)
The new piano in it's home. Thank you Lord!
Now, while all of this was in the works, life still went on it its normal way. With the warmer weather, our back porch has been made ready to welcome visitors.
Our backporch table is ready to enjoy dinners back there too.
Come on over! We'd love to have you!
We had our 21st anniversary too. What a blessing he is to me!
We've also had some organizing and decluttering that we've taken care of in the basement. During the cooler weather we decided to move the TV down there, declutter the easy readers that we no longer use and reorganize the books. This is just a very small representation of the books we have in the house. Keep in mind, we have 2 more full book shelves upstairs as well as a 3 shelf bookshelf in the dining room and a 2 shelf book shelf in our bedroom. To say that we love books would be an understatement. ;)
Along with everything else, we've been able to get the garden in too! :0)
It looks a little bit different now, but the garden went in the first week of June to make sure we were clear of any frost. I know to some of you who live south of us may find that a little odd, but this is the climate we live in. We have a shorter growing season. ;) We're considering a couple different ways to extend the growing season for next year.
I'm sure there are some things I've forgotten, so please forgive me. Today is so far, a rainy day. My older two children are working in the mornings for some friends of ours on their berry farm. I have my youngest here at home with me and my hubby right now. This has been a wonderful time to spend with him and see his personality apart from his siblings. Such a sweet spirit!
I'm off now to tend to laundry, wipe my kitchens down, I have 2 of them, and see if my hubby needs my help building a wall for my sewing room. :0)
God is good!
Have a wonderful day!
Blessings,
Regina
