Crocheted Wool Bag

Well, the bag that will hold our Bibles for church is finally finished. Below you will find the progress and finished product...sort of. LOL Will explain...

This is about half way done complete with handles.

This is the finished bag before heading to it's extremely hot bath and aggitation in the washing machine.

Here is it in it's drying place.

Remember those handles above? It's amazing what happens when you add a little bit of hot water.

These bags are so thick and sturdy it is mind boggling to me.
Now, to explain, when it completely dries, I will feed the ends of the handles through the holes and sewing buttons on the outside of the handle securing each handle in place. I will post a last picture of it once I get to that point in the next day or two.
And...yes, this bag was crocheted. It certainly doesn't look like it now does it?

Low-Key Saturday

Things have been moving right along. We were extremely blessed with temperatures in the 60's yesterday and the 50's today. I do believe, however, that there could still be snow and cold temperatures before spring is officially upon us. I'm thankful for the nice weather.
DH and I had our date night last night. It has been a long time coming. It felt so nice to get out and browse and just be together. We had dinner, ate a little too much and went to Wal-Mart for a few things. We ended up getting DD a Better Homes and Gardens cookbook for her future cooking and home. We bought some beads because she and DS#2 have been in to making necklaces and bracelets. We bought DS#1 a new pair of shoes. We also found a new shower curtain. By their reactions this morning you would have thought it was Christmas or something! Right now the younger 2 are at the table making things with beads. The oldest DS is looking at an illustrated Children's Encyclopedia.

Today is going to be low key. DH and I both woke with migraines this morning. DD and I will be making peanut butter cookies today for our cookie fellowship after church tomorrow. She picked them out of her recipes she's been saving. While she finishes those up, I'll be finishing serge stitching around the ruffles for many many aprons. The ruffles are all in gingham material and right now there are just two colors. I have 2 more colors to do, but will do those another day.

Knitting DD's sweater is coming right along. I've already decreased for the arm areas. Now it's a matter of knitting a few rows before splitting the work in half for the final forming of the collar and shoulders. After that is done I'll get started on the back. Here is a picture I took a few weeks ago~

Well, that's about it for now. Have a wonderful Saturday!

Blessings,

Purposeful Preparing & Planning

We have recently purchased Plants Grown Up and Polished Cornerstones for our 3 children. Today I am copying forms from those 2 books and making binders for our children to begin the road toward Godly Man & Womanhood. This doesn't we haven't been faithfully training them. Rest assured, we have. With these 2 programs helping to guide us, it will be a little more planned out purposefully with a goal in mind.

Today's Bible Work~
1). {Copy Work} "I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he has taken away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he prunes it, that it may bring forth more fruit." (John 15:1-2)

2). Read Proverbs 4

3). Read 1 John 1

4). Journal Writing~ What does Malachi mean when he says, "prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pur you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." in Malachi 3:10? Read from verse 8 to verse 12 to get insight. Use e-sword for futher study. Is this tempting or testing God? Is it "ok" to test God in this instance? Why? How? and with what?

March 2nd, 2009 Studies

1). {Copy Work} I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. (1 Timothy 2:1-2)

2). Read Proverbs 2

3). Read 2 Peter 2

4). Journal Writing-In 2 Peter 2:22, it refers to a proverb. Find the proverb and explain its significance. You may use e-sword commentaries to help you understand. (D&H)
